Located in the Center in the Square in a restored early 20th century furniture warehouse are the Art Museum of Western Virginia, the Arts Council of the Blue Ridge, the Mill Mountain Theatre, the Jefferson Center for Opera Roanoke, and the Roanoke Ballet Theatre. Other entertainment venues are the Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre, Showtimers Theatre, and the Hampton Coliseum. Art galleries include Gallery 108, Studios on the Square Gallery, Market Gallery & Studio, Branch Betty Sculpture Studio & Gallery, and the Fitzpatrick Studio.

Events include the Craftsman Classic Arts and Crafts Festival, Party in the Park, Wildlife Arts Festival, Virginia Fall Foliage Festival Art Show, Virginia Highlands Festival Western, and the Virginia's Sidewalk Art Show.
